Supply Chain Crisis now affecting 2 critical industries – HVAC & Plumbing
How the current supply chain crisis is affecting HVAC parts and equipment locally and what you can do to protect your interests at home
By now, most everyone has heard of the current product shortages across the country and many people have been affected either directly or indirectly. There are many factors that contributed to the crisis we are facing as a nation, but similar crises overseas continue to drive the raw material shortage for many industries, including the HVAC and plumbing industries.
As a company, Lonestar Services began experiencing shortages earlier this year and an increase in costs for parts and new equipment. Instead of passing costs on to customers, we absorbed them but there was nothing we could do about the longer than normal wait times for shipments to arrive locally. Fast forward nine months and the situation has only worsened.
Why are we sharing this info with you?
This seems like a rather bleak topic to be discussing, especially right before the holidays, but we have always been transparent with our customers and want you to know two things:
- What we are up against as a professional, licensed HVAC and Plumbing contractor
- What you can do to minimize the negative effects of the current supply chain crisis for your home or businesses
How could these shortages affect you?
If you have concerns about the HVAC system in your home or business, the sooner you address those concerns, the better you’ll be in terms of money and time spent getting back up and running. As of today, some of our customers are unfortunately waiting three weeks for parts- and unfortunately there is nothing we can do to expedite the delivery time.
What can you do to avoid HVAC and Plumbing parts shortages?
Fighting supply chain issues won’t be easy but the pain can be lessened. Small steps, such as a preventative service & maintenance on your HVAC system can identify areas of potential problems and allow our technicians to repair the issue before it becomes a problem- AND if parts need to be ordered, we can order your parts immediately. Ordering parts and equipment sooner than later will:
- Avoid future unknown inflation and lock in today’s price
- Start the shipping process as soon as the order is placed
